Therapy For Trauma

Are you stuck with traumatic and bad memories from the past? Are you experiencing nightmares or flashbacks? Is your body suffering from chronic pain or uncomfortable physical sensations?

You might be experiencing long-term complex trauma or trauma caused by a single event. Complex trauma usually stems from experiences in childhood, but it can also arise from problems in our adult lives.

Living with trauma can cause deep pain and suffering. The nervous system becomes overwhelmed with unprocessed information, learning to overreact to any sign of perceived danger, even when there is none. This state keeps the person in a state of fright, flight, or freeze, affecting all areas of life. Untreated trauma can lead to depression and contribute to unhappiness in interpersonal and career aspects of life.

I utilize a holistic approach integrating EMDR, internal family systems, somatic psychotherapy, and cognitive behavioral therapy. Each client undergoes an individualized process, and I don’t believe all approaches fit everyone.

I will develop a collaborative and compassionate treatment plan tailored to your personality and needs to assist you in finding your own healing paths.

What to expect from our sessions

I have extensive experience in trauma work. I worked in a trauma-focused agency for several years. I will work with you using trauma-focused approaches including EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), internal family systems, sensorimotor, and mindfulness. These approaches have proven to be highly effective in the realm of trauma by shifting the neurobiological nature of trauma towards a more adaptive framework.
